FAQ
Is Point Blank safe to use at home?
Yes. Point Blank is designed for dry-fire training only and uses laser-based shot detection with no live ammunition. All training should follow standard firearm safety practices, including verifying your firearm is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.
What equipment do I need to use Point Blank?
You’ll need a computer, a projector or display, a compatible laser cartridge or laser-equipped firearm, and a shot detection system. Point Blank works with a wide range of third-party hardware and does not require proprietary firearms.
Does training with Point Blank translate to real-world shooting?
Yes. Point Blank uses real trigger pulls, accurate ballistics modeling, and realistic scenarios to help build transferable skills such as trigger control, sight alignment, and consistency.
What about recoil?
LiteRange doesn’t simulate recoil by design. The goal is to isolate core shooting fundamentals like clean trigger work, sight alignment, and rapid target transitions without the extra variables that come with live fire. Training this way helps reinforce proper mechanics and timing, so when you head back to the range, your skills hold up even as recoil enters the equation.
Is LiteRange used by the military?
Yes. LiteRange is currently in use across military training environments for marksmanship practice, decision-making under time pressure, and dry-fire skills development. Its flexibility and low infrastructure requirements make it well-suited for both individual training and structured instruction.
I already have green or blue dry-fire lasers. Can I use PBS with them?
Green and blue lasers are not compatible with our PBS high-speed IR camera. However, they can be used with an unfiltered HD USB webcam. For best performance, we strongly recommend IR (infrared) dry-fire lasers over red, and especially over green or blue, due to better detection reliability and reduced interference.
